The way is our goal. From the Gasteinertal we drive through the Pinzgau and from then go uphill through the mountains. On your way you will experience the vegetation of the agricultural country, continuing up to the high-alpine Flora. This 50 km long, winding panorama route, built 1930-1935 is one of Austria ’s most often visited destinations.
On the emperors Franz Josef’s height/Freiwandeck directly opposite the Grossglockner 3,798 m, Austria ’s highest mountain, we plan a longer stay, so that you can enjoy the mountains and glaciers in peace. Perhaps you’ll see a few mountain goats. (Our Tip: Bring your Binoculars!) Marmots are often to be seen up here. Meals are available in the self-service restaurant. You can't miss a visit to the exhibition “Glockner” with the experience path "Rock and Ice". A film is shown in the open-air theatre on the third floor (Glockner cinema).
Heiligenblut- Austria ’s most beautiful mountain village
In the afternoon we visit Heiligenblut, with its pilgrimage church and the holy blood of Jesus Christ.
Thus you can thoroughly experience and appreciate our mountain landscapes from a height of 2.504 m (Hochtor) with our minibus. On the trip we'll make a coffee break (with a surprise!) and be back in the Gasteinertal again at approximately 17:30
